Sandringham             

The second investigation concluded by the Spitsa team was done the very next day of the first investigation, on the 18th May 2008. This investigation was conducted in the Sandringham area, also in the heart of the Johannesburg north eastern suburbs. The exact location is the bottom end (dip) of George Avenue (opposite a prominent High School) towards the golf course end.

Legend has it that some years ago, a young teenage girl was a passenger in a vehicle that was involved in a fatal accident on this very road. Reports of this girl walking this road alone between the hours of midnight and 1AM trying to hitch a ride have been doing the rounds since the early 80’s. It is still unclear what happened that fateful night or even who was involved or how the accident happened or who was responsible. However various people have reported this very sighting and have even called into local talk radio stations. What made this site even more “hair-raising” was that it is directly opposite an ancient burial site believed to be sacred to some local folk.

Mitch & Tracey took this project on alone and “camped out” at this location for hours. They also drove up and down the particular road at least a dozen times at unregulated intervals, photographing almost each inch of the road. A walking apparition was not sighted that particular night but other very strange unexplained phenomena occurred, which after careful analysis, could not render a logical explanation.  Although the area was very cold (being on the eve of winter) mysterious clouds of mist started to form and then would just as mysteriously disappear. These clouds seem to reveal the face of a young girl after being photographed. Orb activity was very prominent as well.

Our conclusion:

Although we were disappointed at not being able to document a walking apparition as legend goes, the team was not entirely convinced that there is no paranormal activity in this area.
