Old Pretoria Hotel
Whilst having conducted a hand full of investigations locally, the word of mouth was
spreading furiously and already Spitsa was being inundated with calls to conduct
investigations around the country.
This led the Spitsa team to the central region of Pretoria to a hotel that was constructed in
the late 19th century. The owner of this hotel had personally asked the team to conclude an
investigation following some activity that was reported in the hotel for some time. These
activities included water taps being on automatically during the night, apparitions and
shadows roaming the corridors, cold sensations and even some quests claiming that there
are “other” people in their rooms.
At this investigation, the team was accompanied by a full television crew and presenter. The
idea was to run a “trial” for the popular SABC 2 program, Phantom.
The investigation kicked of at 22h00 and ended after 02h30. A lot of activity was recorded
including moving orbs, camera equipment suddenly switching off and captured EVP
recordings, where names were given to the team after asking specifically for this information,
with the most eerie experience being up on the hotels’ tower building where drastic
temperature fluctuations and electro magnetic fields were felt by the entire team.
Our conclusion:
Albeit the team experienced and documented an array of unexplained activity, it could not be
determined with accuracy that this site was haunted. However, The Spitsa team were very
excited to do their work in front of cameras and are eagerly awaiting approval to shoot
another hunt for broadcast on national television.
