Investigation 5
18 July 2008
Investigators: Tracey, Gerda, Andre’ & Mitch

Rissik Street Central Post Office

Finally Spitsa receive their moment of glory. Curious Films who are the producers of Phantom on SABC 2 approached the team to do a shoot on an actual hunt on a location of their choice. The site was the notoriously well known Rissik Street Central Post Office in downtown Johannesburg. There, it is believed that some workers were killed whilst the building was being constructed. The team was accompanied by a full television camera crew and the hunt was hosted by well known personality, Michael de Pinna.

Investigations kicked off at 22h00 with the team being split up again into 2 sub teams. Tracey & Mitch were documented by one camera crew, Gerda and Andre’ by the other, while Michael de Pinna roamed between the 2 teams for up to the minute updates.

The investigation took place in the basement of the building which had a “highway” of tunnels running in all directions. The building is understood to be a heritage site yet it was completely run down. There was no electricity and because it was underground, the conditions were extremely uncomfortable.

Tracey kept on feeling cold spots and repeatedly maintained someone was in the room with her, while Mitch had a huge orb following his footsteps most of the investigation. The mood was at all times tense to say the least and everyone including the TV crew were nervous of the surroundings. This investigation definitely rates as one of the most intense investigations to date, with the entire team and crew packing up just before 03h00.

Our conclusion:

Spitsa was delighted to be able to document orb activity and temperature fluctuations. Based on that, the team concluded that whilst this site may not be haunted, there certainly was a lot of unexplained activities.
